Things to know about tires:

Tire Size –   Information for replacing your current vehicle’s tires can be found inside the driver’s door on the vehicle’s placard or on the current tire itself.  If you need help, just call us with the make, model and year of your car and we can determine the tire size for you.

Speed Rating – Indicates not only how fast they can safely go for an extended period of time, but also the overall performance potential of the tires.

Tread-Wear Info – Two things need to be considered when estimating how many miles you can expect from a set of tires: the tread-wear rating and the tire mileage warranty.  The tread-wear rating is a three digit number that attempts to project the relative longevity of the tire.  A tire with a tread-wear rating of 200 is expected to wear 2 times better than a tire with a rating of 100.  A tire with a mileage warranty of 50,000 miles is expected to go that many miles before it needs replacing provided that it has been properly inflated, rotated and balanced.  

Run-Flat Tires – Many automakers fit their cars with run-flat tires from the factory.  These tires are capable of driving for short distances at low speed even after a puncture has left them without air.  This could potentially allow you to reach home or a repair facility without needing to change a flat on the side of the road.
